My screen name is IndyAndy. It is the same “name” that I use on the various motorsports forum boards that I haunt. I have lived in the greater Indianapolis metro area for most of my life, and have been a regular atendee of the events at the Speedway for over twenty-five years now.
I have started this blogsite with one objective in mind: to serve as your guide to the events taking place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the racing season. If you have never been here before, or if you just can’t make it here this year, allow me to be your “eyes and ears”, as it were. I have no particular qualifications to do this except for the following: 1) I have been attending the activities at IMS regularly since 1981, so I would like to think that I know my way around and that I have a “feel” for what is important and what isn’t, & :2) I currently live within walking distance of the track, so ease of access to it is not a problem for me.
If this is sufficient for you, I will do my best to give you a “taste” of what it is like to take in the action at one of the world’s premier motorsports facilities. I hope that you will find this site enjoyable.
Thanks in advance for your patronage.
Great job!! Can’t wait to read your blog.
How do you get into the garage area for the F1 race. Is it open to anyone on Thursday?
Thanks
The “Pit Walk” – where you have to stand behind a partition line – is open to all USGP ticketholders. My ability to get INTO the STR garage – ie: inside the partition line – was a result of a forum-board buddy who had been a longtime memeber of the Minardi Fan Club & knew several of the top crew memebers.
